Finally, we are complete with this year of digital design and animation. This year has went by at a neutral speed rather than fast in my opinion. Over this past school year we have covered so much and I have learned so much also. I did things in this class I never thought I could make possible. There is a handful of things I can take away from this class. One of the big things I would take away is the consistency. With constantly being assigned assignments, having to be prepared, and staying on top of my game has better me throughout the year. And I feel like it has increased my level of responsibility. Especially when it comes to being responsible with school. The most rewarding experience I have had in this class is the learning. Such as learning, how to animate in 2-D and 3-D, creating 3-D models, editing in digital video and audio, manipulating digital and audio, how to photo shop, learning the production cycle and pipelines, learning different techniques, and creating graphics. As stated before, I never knew what I was capable of doing when it comes to digital design. The experience of being in this class and learning these different materials has been extraordinary. I'm going to be honest, at the beginning of the year it was a struggle. I had trouble getting use to the procedures in this class, what was expected of me, and the amount of assignments. I was told that this was a fast paced class, but I just didn't know how fast paced. Even though my experience has been incredible and out of the ordinary, I'm not so sure that this would follow me into the future. But you never know. But if it were to follow me in the future, the skills that would come along with is 3-D modeling and video/audio editing. These skills were the ones I had the most fun with and the ones I felt most comfortable with. But if I were to choose between the two, it would be video/audio editing. Overall I enjoy this roller coaster of a year in this class and I'm so thankful that I was apart of it. In conclusion...

Everytime I write a reflection on board and card games, it would be a family-friendly game. You can probably infer that those are my favorite types. Those types of games are the most fun to play and they bring the most joy. Today I’m going to discuss another family-friendly game. But this game can create enemies. The game I’m going to discuss is “Trouble.” You can probably infer on its title what this game will cause. The game “Trouble” is property of Hasboro gaming. This company has became very prosperous and owns a lot of popular games we know today. Such as Connect 4, Jenga, Twister, etc. I first learned how to play this game at the age of seven or maybe six. I was taught by my brother on how to play “Trouble.” I was a very competitive child so my brother and I would play rounds and rounds of this game. For those that have no experience of playing “Trouble,” it is a board game compatible with the amount of two to four players. The game includes 16 pegs. Each group of pegs (4) have a different color. In the middle of the board is the Pop-O-Matic, the poppable dice. You pop the dice in order to know how many spaces you move to get all of your pegs back home. When I played with my brother, we would bump the rules a little bit to make the game longer and more fun. Since it would just be him and I playing, instead of having one group of pegs to play with, we would each have two groups. “Trouble” is a very fun game and I highly recommend it for the whole family to play.
Ladies and gentlemen, we now return to my love of video games. I'll have to admit, one player action-adventure games are sometimes not my favorite type of game to play. But this game I'm going to discuss is worth talking about. "Red Dead Redemption" is a action-adventure game about a man, John Marston the protagonist, who tries to hide his bloody past behind him. This is a western-themed game for your information. This video game came to us in the year 2010. This game play is available on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms played in third-person perspective."Red Dead Redemption" was developed by Rockstar North and Rockstar San Diego. It was officially published by Rockstar games. You may be familiar with other games that corporate with them. Such as a popular game, "Grand Theft Auto" and its other versions. I'm gonna admit, I didn't ever finish the game because it soon became challenging. And I was at least eleven years old so I wasn't as skillful as I am now. Occasionally, my dad would play it and I would watch him. Keep in mind, this video game isn't rated "E" for everyone. But in my opinion, it isn't really that explicit. I'm pretty sure some type of 3-D software was used for the creation of "Red Dead Redemption." It relates to what we are currently working on in class which is, as stated before, 3-D modeling which is good for reference. Overall, "Red Dead Redemption" is a high quality and realistic video game.
Resource reddead.fandom.com/wiki/Red_Dead_Redemption As recently stated before, we are currently working in 3-D modeling still. As a class, we started to explore several different materials used in 3-D modeling for different purposes. And I'm not going to lie, when we were introduced to the different materials, some of them intimidated me. But in the end, I know I will manage. I have always knew from the start that it is more to 3-D modeling than we may be introduced to in school. But now I definitely know that it is more to 3-D modeling than we have recently learned. I still find this type of modeling interesting but it is also very complex in my opinion. On a more positive note, my skills in 3-D modeling and using 3ds Max has altered some. But I will still have some more work and practice to do. 3-D modeling is not the easiest thing in the world. One of the things I am struggling with currently is adding materials to my modeling for texture. For those who are unfamiliar, texture mapping is the method of adding patterns or images to the surface of a mesh. It's most importantly used for providing texture so it's a important tool used in 3-D modeling. Doing things like connecting the nodes to different materials causes some confusion for me. In order to have a better and more clear understanding, I watched and studied video tutorials provided by my educator. So far that has helped. While still moving further into 3-D modeling and learning new techniques, 3-D modeling has been good to me. In conclusion..

Previously I've reflected on several different games I have had experience with before. Such as different video games and card games. But I haven't really reflected on board games. Today I'm going to discuss the board game "Connect 4." I have played this game ever since I was at the age of six. This is one of my favorite games to play with family or friends. It's a game that's played by two people. Each player chooses a disc with a designated color. The goal of the game is to connect the four disc in the seven by six row columns. Whoever does this first wins the game. When I play "Connect 4," it's rare that I would lose and I'm not trying to boast. With nine years of experience with this game, you would get pretty good at playing it. Not only because of the fact that it's family friendly, but it's enjoyable, and it gets your strategy skills going. My favorite thing when playing "Connect 4" is connecting the four disc in a row without the opposing player noticing. Then you would have to show them as their dreams begin to crush. A fair warning, this game can create enemies! There isn't a clear date of when a 'four-in-a-row' game came to us originally, but there was a game that goes by the name of 'Captain's Mistress' . If you wish to learn more in depth of that game, then you can research more or click the link provided below. The more modern and updated version of that game which we now know as "Connect 4," came to us in the year of 1974 in February by 'Milton Bradley,' (Hasboro). I highly recommend this game to anyone. Especially a competitive person like me.
In class we have recently been introduced to 3-D modeling. And currently we are working with the program. To do this, we are using 3ds Max which is a popular and incredible software. I've always thought that this type of program was the hardest to use. What made me believe this was the information I learned about 3-D modeling and the production cycle of it. This is why you should never judge a book by its cover because 3-D modeling isn't as hard as I would have thought it would be. It's actually quite fun. Over the past several of days of working with 3-D modeling I have been getting more comfortable with it. When we are given assignments, seventy percent of the time, tutorial videos are included. While recently working on a assignment doing 3-D modeling, we were required to watch a video. And I was working swiftly through my assignment. I feel like it is my favorite unit to work with besides working with video and audio. What I like so much about 3-D modeling is using the subobjects on my model. So far I have struggled with the production of some primitives and remembering the keyboard shortcuts to activate tools. When creating primitives I sometimes forget when to click, pull out, pull in, go up, or go down. I remember a few of them and I'll continue to work with them to get more comfortable. The same goes for the keyboard shortcuts. One of the things we were instructed to design was to create a cartoon head which I really enjoyed. The fact I was able to create a thing such as that made me more excited to move more in depth with 3-D modeling. Above is a image of a snowman I constructed using 3ds Max. In conclusion...
I've had my experience in video, card, and board games. Maybe even other types of games that I've may have forgotten to mention. Unlike some people, I find interest in old fashioned games and I've had my fair share in playing them. There is only one old school card game I've played, and that game in 'Old Maid.' This card game has been around for 130 years and still lives on until this day. It was introduced to me by my mother. 'Old Maid is Victorian family card game but similar to a matching game. But don't be fooled by its pre-school category, it's actually quite competitive. Back in the early 1900s, 'Old Maid' was played in bars and took place in gambling. The basic concept of this game is to form matching pairs of the images on the cards in hand, discard the matching pairs, and do not, I repeat, do not be the one left with the odd card (the old maid). Also, the cards are passed around faced down which creates some tension. The cards are dealt to each player one by one until there is no more cards to be dealt. When playing this card game, it's also quite amusing. I say this because when you are caught with the old maid while the game is still being played, you start to glance at your opposing players. When this happens, someone usually laughs. At least when I play it with my brother and mother. There's many different versions of 'Old Maid' but I've only played one version. This card game is free for all ages to play and it will be tons of fun.
Resource “The Game of ‘Old Maid.’” The World of Playing Cards, www.wopc.co.uk/uk/chad-valley/old-maid-2. There are varieties of video games in the video game world. One of one the types of games I feel that does not get enough credit is racing games. To some people they may seem rudimentary, but to me, they're are actually quite enjoyable. Forza video games exceeds all of the other racing video games that I've played. There are many version of the game. The one Forza racing game I've played is 'Forza Motorsport 5.' This game is developed by Turn 10 Studios, it's apart of the Microsoft family, and is only capable to play on a Xbox Console. 'Forza Motorsport 5' was released November 22, 2013. Even though its release date was around 6 years ago, its gameplay will make you think otherwise, I guarantee. With my experience in video games, I consider it to be complex and highly realistic. Its graphic are so detailed and realistic that you would think you're really in the game. There is still so much of 'Forza Motorsport 5' I haven't discovered yet. I know this because I always go directly to 'career mode' when there's plenty of other options for me to choose from. It's also a multi-player game, allows you to have the option of using a Force feedback wheel, and using Kinect voice. 'Forza Motorsport 5' has hundreds of cars. For example: Audi, Ford, BMW, Nissan, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Honda, Porsche, Bugatti, Mitsubishi Motors, etc. There is many more cars, even old fashioned cars, and cars I've never heard of. If you love cars and video games, I highly recommend you purchase and play this game.
In class we're entering digital audio and video. Ever since my class had began animation, we have used motion-based applications primarily based on Adobe Systems. I've produced my motion-based work using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate, and currently Adobe Premiere. Each application took some time learning and getting comfortable with. Adobe After Effects and Adobe Animate is used primarily to produce animated artwork unlike Adobe Premiere. In Premiere, it deals with video editing. Adobe After Effects is the motion-based application I learned to use first and was also used to create my motion graphic. Most of my experience with After Effects is with simply transitioning images, adding background, keyframes, applying text, and applying color which is some of the components of creating a motion graphic. Adobe animate was next on my list and was used to created my animated goo-eating monster. This application is used for the design of vector graphics such as online video, television programs, video games, and other things in that nature. I worked on several different tools. Keyframes, the onion skin, easing, shape hint, symbol, the pen tool, and other tools in animate that would fall somewhere in that category. I'm still a little new to the Adobe Premiere and our class still hasn't fully covered this application. For right now we are working on producing a digital video that shows intensity of a color of our choice. I feel like this may be my favorite unit due to all the choices with applying effects. I've only had experience so far with importing images and applying effects. The three applications may be motion-based but serve different purposes. And I look forward into working with Adobe Premiere.
In Conclusion...
“Adobe Animate CC: Everything You Need to Know.” Wondershare, filmora.wondershare.com/animated-video/adobe-animate-cc-everything-you-need-to-know.html. Everyone knows about Marvel and Capcom. Two of a few fictional universes. I've grown up around various products that originated from these two companies. From the comic books to their video games and action films. Marvel was founded in the year of 1947 in the New York City. Soon they established studios, publishing, different companies, etc. Capcom was established in the year of 1979 in Japan. Both companies have had their history of games. But one game I've recently purchased is "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite." A video game of two universes clashing in a action-fighting game series developed and published entirely by Capcom. The video game hit stores worldwide in 2017. It was available to players of Xbox one, Playstation 4, and PC. I've always been a fan of fighting and shooting video games. "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" instantly became a favorite. It's arcade-like game play stole my heart. And what really interested me was how Capcom managed to make the Marvel characters look as if they originally originated from a arcade game. Also, I was excited to begin the cinematic story mode that's featured also in the game. But the story mode isn't the only thing. It also features your iconic Infinity Stones, and the fun tag team battles. Wow, how can I possibly forget the tag team battles?!? In my opinion, it's the most fun feature on the game. Being able to battle with two of your favorite characters and switch which one you're playing with anytime will give you a rush! While battling in any mode I always enjoy mixing up combos to defeat my opponent. Overall this video game is amazing and I highly recommend it to my fellow gamers, especially those who have a sweet spot for fighting games like me.
